Required data

Send the following information to Yoshiaki (fujii6299 [at] vivaldi.net):

  • Course layout
  • Position for each segment (DH, drops, hoods, tops)
  • Air temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure (assumed to be 25oC, 50%, and 1 atm by default)
  • Your peak power values for 30 s, 1 min, 2 min, 5 min, and 20 min
  • Your total weight including helmet, shoes, jersey, etc.
  • Your bike weight including bottle, cycle computer, etc.
  • Your wheelset weight including tires, sealant/tubes, cassette, etc.

You can read your peak power values from peak curves available on platforms such as STRAVA, intervals.icu, or riduck.

To improve the accuracy of the simulation, additional details such as predicted exit speeds from corners, road conditions, and past results would be helpful.

Unless otherwise specified, CdA values are assumed to be 0.25 for DH position, 0.28 for drops, 0.30 for hoods, and 0.33 for tops (in m2), and the rolling resistance coefficient is set to 0.005.
